Web Recall Support
Web Recall helps you find pages from what you remember and organize browser bookmarks through a reviewable, recoverable workflow on Mac.
Supported browsers
Web Recall supports Safari, Google Chrome, and Microsoft Edge. The available bookmark and browsing-memory features depend on the browser permissions and access you choose to enable.
Install and connect Browser Connection
Safari access is set up from the Web Recall Mac app. For Chrome or Edge, open Web Recall, select the browser you want to connect, and follow the in-app instructions for that browser. Keep the Mac app running while connecting.
Browser Connection communicates with Web Recall on the same Mac. After it connects, return to the app to check access and review any bookmark operation before applying it.
Quick Find and local memory
Quick Find builds a local index from the bookmarks and optional browsing information you allow Web Recall to use. If you enable page content memory, Web Recall can store limited page body text locally to improve searches based on remembered content.
Use the app’s Storage & Privacy controls to clear the Quick Find index, page content memory, or all related local Quick Find data.
Bookmark review and recovery
Web Recall prepares an organization draft before changing bookmarks. Review folder names, assignments, moves, and deletions in the app, then apply only the result you want.
The app keeps local history for supported bookmark operations. Use the history or recovery view if you need to restore an earlier Web Recall change. Recovery cannot guarantee reversal of every external browser or synchronization change.
Connection troubleshooting
- Confirm that the Web Recall Mac app is running.
- Confirm that the official Browser Connection extension is installed and enabled for the browser you selected.
- If Chrome is unavailable or cannot be accessed, Web Recall also supports Microsoft Edge. Open the app, select Edge, and follow the in-app connection instructions.
- Restart the browser and Web Recall, then open the app and connect again.
